The work that we do in Ghana has been going well so far but not without the support of generous people. My vision is to find ways to raise support from certain economic activities in Ghana to support our operations rather than wait for donations which often are not so forthcoming in this day and age. My vision is to engage in economic development activities that could generate income to support our operations in Ghana.
In recent years, the Missions has acquired some earth moving equipments such wheel loaders, a dozer and three rigs that drill water wells for rural communities. Our drilling program is capable of producing some great miracles especially for rural folks if we have people and organizations that could sponsor the drilling of wells for needy rural villages by donating $3,800.00 per well.
When all of our economic activities are doing well, we will be able to raise enough money in Ghana to support the 20 children at the House of HOPE orphanage, school breakfast program and the prison supplementary feeding program which send food to three prisons in the Brong Ahafo region every month. It will also afford us the opportunity to maintain the staff who work in the various departments by paying them reasonable salaries to support their families and keep them out trouble.
Our programs require a monthly budget of $8,500.00 to get all our operations running.
All vehicles must be within 10 years for small cars and 15 years for trucks & buses to avoid huge import duties and over age penalties in Ghana.
Flatbed trucks as support vehicles (within 15 years old due importation laws in Ghana)
Pick-up trucks for crew transport to & from drill site and towing compressor
Drill rods (8 feet & 10 feet lengths)
Mud pumps (Centrifugal & other types)
15-23 Passenger van (2)
Small cars (Sedan) and pick-up trucks - one immediate need to take breakfast to school children
This will help generate income as well as assist us in many of our construction projects. We have a dozer, and a wheel loader which we used to assist in the construction of the hospital building and the savings has been tremendous. A structure that should have cost us close to $100,000.00 we have spent less than $50,000.00. We have a flatbed which was turned into a dump truck and has brought all our quarry and sand needs at a huge savings. The concrete blocks factory has made all but 600 of the 6,000 blocks we have used so far in the hospital building project.
The following equipments are needed and since those are considered construction equipments, they do not attract any penalties even if they are over the Ghana government stipulated age limits. We will repair if the work needed is not huge expense.
The following list is what we need:
Tires (new & used)
AfriHOPE Missions needs $25,000.00 to complete building to open for operation by January 2013.
30-50 Passenger buses (3) for transporting patients and family to and from children’s hospital. The Children's Hospital is located at 5-10 miles away from 2 big towns.
Stand by Generator to provide electricity (30-60 Kilowatts)
